Finally got the 4wd working and have to ask a stupid question.
I'm really new to 4wd at least this one and wandering when do you
use the 4wd part time. 2 & 4 low I understand.
Hopefully, I'm not coming off like a complete dumb a$$.

thanks for explaning -
Larry

Don't feel bad dude, I'm in the same boat. Once I rebuild my front drive shaft and front driver side half shaft, I need to figure out how to use the 4 wheel drive system. This is my first 4 wheel drive and I'm learning as I go so I'd be interested in what kind of answers you get.

I have a 242 in my Cherokee ... lol its not hard if you off-road you will probably only ever use Part Time ... for snow and really bad traction environments use full time high .... if you need more power Full Time Low

Go on here and scroll down to get to the NV-242 Selec-Trac, and it will explain it fully. >->http://www.wjjeeps.com/tcases.htm

That's a pretty sweet site, thanks for the link. Is there one of those sites for a ZJ? Or is there not much difference between the WJ and the ZJ? I've got a the NP242 with Selec-Trac.

I haven't found one yet. There's quite a few differences between the WJ and the ZJ but they both offered the 242 and they're very similar.
