2014 Grand Cherokee Power Window Lock
Please advise: On a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when you engage the power window lock should this lock all the windows, front and rear, or just the rear windows....all part of a child safety feature. Thanks

There is not one single bit of information in the Owner's Manual regarding the question: "should the power window lock button, when engaged, lock all four windows or only the rear windows in a Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2014"? There is a picture of the button, it is actually listed as an item number when looking at the photo, but absolutely nothing more regarding this feature. We "think" it had been locking all four windows but currently only the rear windows lock. Our service department indicates that is normal operation---rear windows only. Please advise.

Old fart with a wrench
Wait now, on my '00 WJ, it locks everything EXCEPT the driver's window. I've hit the button with my elbow and my front passengers complain they can't open their window, yet mine still works.

Power window lock control
Our service garage told us they contacted Jeep technical service and they told them "locking only the rear windows" is normal operation. I question that since we travel with a small dog and there were times the dog sits on my wife's lap and pressed the window button. I then engaged the button and the windows locked.....after what the service agent said, we thought perhaps we are wrong....The service garage gave me an 800 number to contact. That individual simply called the service garage, spoke to them and repeated what already heard. I asked that individual to contact engineering or send me a report what tech service told our service garage. He noted that is "confidential" and cannot be done. Nonsense!!
We purchased this car in May, 2014, on a Friday night. We drove about 100 miles that weekend and on Monday morning it would not start. After sending a tech person to our home, telling us it's a problem with the security system or the key...it had to be towed...Problem: main computer was defective and had to be replaced. We are NOT very happy with this vehicle and this power window issue simply irritates the situation. My next move is to personally contact Jeep Corporate and demand a note clarifying how the power window lock should work.

I just bought a 2017 Cherokee and, much to my dismay, it clearly says in the manual that it only locks the rear windows - see below from manual. I have a dog and in my Tacoma I can lock the front passenger window which I really like/need in the jeep but oh well. Makes no sense to me. A few things that make no sense to me with the Jeep. I still like it overall.
Window Lockout Switch
The window lockout switch on the driver’s door trim panel
allows you to disable the window controls on the rear
passenger doors. To disable the window controls, push and
release the window lockout button (the indicator light on
the button with turn on). To enable the window controls,
push and release the window lockout button again (the
indicator light on the button will turn back off).

Rear windows only
It may have been ambiguous in previous manuals but it clearly says:
