2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with 18 rims
 

Im wanting to know if anyone has went from the stock 265/60/R18
to 275/65/R18 with the QL and all the off-road features will this tire
fit or be a problem?
And also with the limited options with 18 rims, what tires are best?

and they weight 57lbs each.

I wouldnt know, but thats a pretty small increase in tire size. Do you really believe it will make that much difference?

An easy budget boost and some Wheel/hub spacers will guarantee that they fit nicely!

I thought about that(spacers ) and ive heard Spidertrax Offroad Wheel Spacers are among the best. Ive never tried them and this technology is so new with the jeeps i cant seem to find a good source
I do go off road and Im against all mall crawlers.

As for running like a TANK Happy to hear that! I hope to say that when my Jeep
is 18 years old (with great hopes it does!)

I have heard the same, however I dont see how, minus obvious risk of casting imperfections, how one can really be that much better than another. I just bought some $100 no names off ebay and im more than happy.

And as far as running like a tank... the username is "IStoleIt" because it is a $1000 craigslist special i bought almost a year ago with 200k. I have only replaced the starter(recently) and the battery. EVERYTHING WORKS! Power everything, moonroof, fogs, heated leather seats, CD\Cassette\AM\FM, Infinity 6 point speakers and AMP. It all works. AND... 25mpg\highway with 5.2L V8 and full time 4wd(almost AWD). Its never been stuck and she loves the Highway more than most lifted 18yo Heeps.

I wouldn't use CAST aluminum wheel spacers! Solid machined 6064 T6 or steel!

The tires on the GC Trailhawk have Kevlar coating on them, so if you upsize, shop for tires that have a Kevlar coating. The new GC Trailhawks (2017's) use the same tires as the 2013 GC Trailhawks did (apparently, or at least they're the same size)... I'd go for Goodyear Duratracs if they're available in that size.

Kevlar is not a coating. It's a fiber like nylon is a fiber. It makes up the tires structure to help prevent sidewall tears. Also 275s are only 3/8" or 10mm wider than 265s. Plus the change in profile give you zip for difference. Oh...wait. What's 5% of 10mm?

Im going with the DuraTrac tires 265/65/R18
the only problem i can see it that they are 4 ply tread and 2 ply side wall.

OK I ordered them with my reputable Jeep dealer near me, and when they came in and i went to get them put on, the guys found one tire to have a default. They believe it was stuck on a conveyor belt or something . About 4 of the tread blocks were shaved down or burned down and tiny shavings looking like tire dust was deep in the treads.
LSS (long story short) they had to send that one back and get a new one sent back.

They are good people or id ask for a discount for the delay. When you finally make the move to get new tires... you really want those
bad boys on, especially when its dumping buckets of rain as we speak.

So Ive had my Wrangler DuraTrac tires since early December of 2016. (for size read threads) .They are just as loud or if anything just a little bit more then the Silent Armor Kevlar that come with the trailhawk.
As for handling they do great. Lets say I give them high props on everything they say about them.

ONE PROBLEM, the walls are weak and so is the tread - its just thinned ply for an off road tire. Its even MS rated but here is where rubber meets the road.

I was up at 2000ft elevation this winter in northern California near the Oregon border and testing my tires on snow packed roads. They did great but somewhere I seemed to get something pierce my tread and on my way down nearing dark time as i drove off i noticed my heads up display saying low tire pressure and showing passenger rear tire at 18psi and dropping from 36psi.
Long story but I ended up changing my tire in the dark on a hard packed snowy road ...I had all the right gear its just not what i expected from a New Duratac MS rated.
If they make that size in a 10 ply(havent seen any yet) ill get another set but my next set will be 10 ply I dont care what you guys say. Tires are as important as
what is on top of them!

Thanks - Ill remember that if i ever do spacers. just wondering why your against aluminum? too brittle?not as sure as steel?

I'm not against aluminum, but CAST aluminum is very brittle, whereas rolled, heat treated alloy aluminum is strong enough for aviation flight control parts.

I'm generally against spacers anyway. They move the load away from the bearings and add a torque moment to load carrying capacity of them. In my opinion, they are fine for a mall-crawler, but not for off-road bashing.

BUT, that my opinion. Do with it what you want.
