Default 2005 larado wont start

I have researched this problem but could not find an answer. My 2005 jeep grand cherokee larado with the 4.7 will not start, just a clicking noise from the engine compartment. before we could jump it and it would start, but now it doesnt work. full power at lights and horn and when I turn the key there seems to be no draw of power. It worked fine a few hours ago. any suggestions would be helpfull.
Thanks

just a click usually indicates a failed started. if you can get to it, try hitting the starter with a hammer while someone cranks it. this can usually get the last few starts out of a dying starter

Thanks, I smashed the starter a few times and it worked. Guess it's time for a new one.
