New guy, 1st post! And I'm sure there is a post on this issue already but I couldn't find it.

A couple weeks ago, while driving to work, I noticed my Jeep felt very sluggish, like it was trying to take off in the wrong gear. I manually shifted it into 2nd and I felt it down shift. Once I got going I would upshift into drive and it shifted into drive, then it shifted into OD by itself. I also noticed it wouldn't manually downshift into 1st. So, I only had 2nd, drive, and OD. Since it has 250,000 miles on it and I only use it to go back and forth to work I decided to live with manually shifting it. Well, today, on my way to work I stopped to get gas and when I left the gas station it would NOT shift at all and it feels like it's in 1st gear. I did some quick research and found a repair sight that said to remove the shift relay in the fuse box under the hood and see if it will shift manually. Thankfully, that worked... sort of! With the relay out I have 2nd gear and drive. No 1st and no OD. I bought a new relay but when I put it in I only had 1st gear again. So, the old relay was not the problem.

I did the key on key off trick to check for codes and got a LONG!!! list of trouble codes. They all started with P... 0031, 1281, 0320, 0753, 0051, 0300, 0302, 0304, 0306, 1762, 1763, 1764, 1765, 0837. Like I said, it has A LOT of miles and I only drive it to work so, I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money on it. But I drive 40 miles 1 way and it's cheaper on fuel than my F-350 Crew Cab.
