2001 cherokee stolen recovery
Hey guys. I'm looking at buying a Cherokee that was stolen and the thief busted out the ignition switch amongst other things. Is there anyway to bypass the switch so I can drive it home? My only dealership experience is with GM columns so I'm thinking it should be pretty much the same.

Old fart with a wrench
Before you buy it, make sure there are no liens on it and the purchase is legal. If it's like the GM column, the switch is on a pushrod from the tumbler and is under the dash near the base of the column. You should be able to activate the switch manually.
