Default 2000 Grand Cherokee 4.0 gas in oil

I just bought a 2000 grand Cherokee with 141,xxx miles. I got a decent deal on it as my buddy was having troubles with gas in the oil. So researching I figured it was either rings or injectors. I did a compression test and talked to a popular mechanic in my area and he said that isn’t the problem. He has replaced the injectors, but I just figured it was a faulty one from Napa. I just pulled them and did a leak down test with newspaper under neath them and that doesn’t seem to be the problem. Do you guys have any idea in what direction I should head now? Thanks in advance.

Use an LED light connected to the PCM side of all the injectors while it's running. You may have a grounded trigger lead on one of them, allowing that injector to spray continually.

I took it to a mechanic yesterday, he has a top of the line scanner, will he be able to tell if they are spraying continually through that?

Yes, a good DRB scanner should be able to tell.

Subscribed, currious what solves the problem. I would have guessed injectors as well. Some early fuel injected KTMs had the same issue.

So far he has checked fuel pressure he said it’s at 53. He said it calls for 49 but there is a +/- 5 psi. I’ll let you guys know what he finds. He is the only
mechanic at his shop so it may take a few days.

You should be able to do it yourself with a test light. Probe each injector connector while it's running. One side should show a steady light and the other a pulsing light. The one that shows a steady light on BOTH sides is the one.

Ok I’ll give him a couple days and if he doesn’t get around to it I’ll go pick it up and do it myself.

I called mechanic yesterday, he said he think an injector is firing on the exhaust strokes. You guys heard of this happening?

Doesn't make sense. The plugs fire on both strokes. It would burn off if that were the case, unless that plug isn't firing at all.

I wouldn’t think that a plug wasn’t firing at all the jeep runs really good

Well, the only other thought I have is possibly a sticky injector the hangs open occasionally.
