I hope I am using this site correctly...I have a question about my 2000 4.0 cherokee; power steering pump is leeking from the bottom..cant se EXACTLY where its leaking from but its definitely not leaking rom the resevior; leak seems to drip from a cylindrical shaped section of nthe underside of the power steering pump. The leak is excessive and i tend to try to stayt away from additives to fix leaks of anykind on account of THEY NEVER WORK lol..seriouly though im wondering if there: is an o ring i could replace if itd save me any money, or if this an indicator that the pump will/has ulimately failed and needs complete replacing...thank you in advance for any reputable individuals who reply swiftly and imformatively.

Is the pump making any out of the ordinary noises? Is the steering stiff? Have you tried tightening the hoses just in case a fitting worked loose? Could be your return line sprung a leak. Best bet is to pull the pump out, and inspect the hose lines, fittings, and the pump itself. If you don't see anything clean it all up then put it all back together. Observe for the leak.
