1999 jeep grand cherokee dies randomly
 

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0L.
I was driving and out of nowhere my jeep just shut down. Lost power steering brakes got tough but was rolling. All gauges froze then fell. After that I had one hell of a time trying to get it started again. So i replaced the ecm. Ran great for a bit and then I had it sitting idling. Then shut off. Wouldn't start for a bit. Then it did and I had it running for about 30 minutes and nothing happened. Plus help i would like this to stop. I love jeeps but this one is getting ready to go to the crusher.

JMHO, but I think you wasted a lot of money replacing the computer. It sounds to me like a failing Crankshaft Position Sensor. Random stalling and delay on restarting is a common symptom of this.

I don't know why a lot of people immediately blame the PCM.

If you love jeeps, you're giving up too easily.
