Just wanted to say I am new here and the only reason I found this forum was cause this thread. The other day my jeep started doing the same thing. Couldn't figure it out untill I came across this thread. I just wanted to say Thank you for the great info! My jeep is up and running great again! Thanks and again..

here's an idea, post in the OEM cherokee section with a new post instead of reviving a 3yr old one on a GRAND cherokee subforum.

Good morning ! I replaced both sensors (Parts store gave me the wrong one) in my 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo and it fixed it. No problems since. Even with replacing both sensors, it was a cheap fix. Good luck !

- now to try and return the one i don't need. My parts guy is usually pretty good..... hopefully it wont be too much of hassel getting him to take it back.

Yep mine uses the same one. I got one from AZ a few years back, and I see it is now leaking Internally, not the O ring. So good for you going to the dealer for genuine Mopar part. I would add that I paid a price as well for using AZ crank and cam sensors., I ended up with 2 cam sensors, the one under the dist cap, that were both bad, after doing fuel pump and crank sensor. Also got the Mopar crank sensor from a dealer, the az one was weaker than the one I took out with 200k. I put the original cam sensor back in this morning, with 200k on it, and it starts and drives like a new BMW.
