are track bars on these jeep commonly known for going bad? This is my first time owning a jeep well first car ever.

Being 20 years old, it's not uncommon for the bushings on the control arms and track bar to be worn out.

Do some reading of posts to get a general idea of what you've gotten yourself into. Jeeps are fun, but are also money hungry! For parts, I suggest rockauto.com. Everytime you order from them, they send you a refridgerator magnet. I've got 23 of them! They give you a choice of brands and prices, shipping is quick, and I've never gotten the wrong parts.
