The anti-theft module for 1993-1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ's equipped with the factory security system (yours is the Orvis Edition, so it has one) is located somewhere behind the glove box on the passenger's side. I've heard that if you remove the wiring harness from the box, put your key in the door, and then in the ignition to start the Jeep, the module will be bypassed. There's no airbag on the passenger's side from 1993-1995, so you won't puncture or damage any airbags in the process of doing so. My 1994 ZJ Laredo didn't have the factory security system (but it had pretty much every other option available for 1994), but this is what I've heard from other ZJ owners.

I assume your Jeep is doing what's common when the security module decides to act up: your hazards flash and the Jeep won't start, or will try to turn over and not start. You may also hear a ticking noise coming from behind the dashboard.
