1994 Grand Jeep Cherokee
I went 4 wheeling, noticed a ticking in engine, headed home. Engine just died and will not turn over. Oil was a little low, is there a shut down sensor for low oil? Is there any other advice on why engine will not turn over?

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
Did you go through any deep water? You may have killed the alternator and then ran the battery down.
