Just took delivery of a 2014 Summit. It has all the bells and whistles but I can't configure them the way I want. By the way, this is the 16th Grand Cherokee I have owned in 16 years. I buy a new one every year and love the car. But the new electronics is frustrating.

First, the background on the media screen is all black and ugly and there is no way to change this theme to one that is brighter and more pleasing.

Second, I have checked the box that is supposed to sound a chime and show a light when Bind Spot Monitoring is activated. I see the light but hear no chime. This may be a safety issue.

Three, you cannot adjust the brightness of the display unless the "auto" option is unchecked and either the 'day' or 'night' check box is checked. However the 'day' brightness can only be adjusted when the screen is in daylight mode and the night brightness can only be adjusted when the screen is in the night brightness mode. In other words the day brightness cannot be adjusted at night and the night brightness cannot be adjusted during the day. Is this screwed up or isn't it???? (The manual does not tell you this.)

Either the software on my vehicle needs to reinstalled or Jeep needs to issue a patch that allows different themes (backgrounds) to be chosen, provides for an increase in the chime volume when Blind Spot Monitoring is activated and allows the Display brightness to be modified at any time of the day. I hope Jeep does something about this.

I believe the dark theme on the radio cannot be changed. It is something they just started this year I think.

The blind spot monitor light comes on when there is a car detected in your blind spot but I think only beeps to warn you when you turn on you turn signal like you are about to change lanes. Otherwise it would get very annoying.

The brightness setting on the radio can be kind if tricky. They can be changed in the radio but will be affected if you have the headlights in auto mode or have the **** for the cluster display rolled so it clicks onto the brightest position.

Just give me a V-8 & a six speed without a bunch of stuck on needless plastic, call it good. Don't even really need a radio, and sure as _______ no %!@#$%^&^ #$%##@ phone!
