My '97 w/5.2 gets 10-13 city, 17-18 on a trip. 21 if I try hard!
The '04 w/4.7 gets 13-15 city, 18-20 on a trip. Can get 23 but it's boring.

Does the 5.2 have any advantages over the I6?

It pulls a loaded trailer up a hill or a long grade better. It doesn't make much more HP, maybe 20 stock, but the torque is what makes the difference.
