Our 04 overland has 200k+ miles and while driving, when I slow down it idles roughly sometimes, usually when warmed up. Also, we were using it to haul wood back and forth and noticed some gray smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. Today, while the engine was not yet warm, the oil pressure started dropping, as I pulled out of the driveway and later (at a stop sign). The oil was a bit low so I added a quart. It does burn some oil, I have to add a quart or so every few weeks. We bought it about 5000 miles ago, and haven't had any major problems to speak of. Any ideas on what this could be? Normally as far as I know when you burn oil, the smoke should be blue. If the smoke is gray that should mean not proper burning in the engine (ignition problem, air-fuel ratio problem) or maybe coolant in cylinder for example head gasket leak. Is your oil clean?

Oil burning, coolant using, gray or white smoke, running rough, 200K miles---probably cracked head and/or blown head gasket.

Low oil pressure = wiped bearings.

Get back out of it if you can.
