Default 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee shut off by itself!

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee recently turned off on its own. This is the second time it has happened. First time was a year ago. Both occasions happened while I was idle at a light.

The battery should be new it's only a year old!

When was the last time the car has a tuneup ? To me this sounds like the ignition coil could be bad, or the Spark plugs are dirty.

I think I may need a tune up...I haven't had one since I purchased it since 2006. Just oil changes.

Oh yeah you need a tune up and that jeep does not have ignition coil it has coil packs and all you have to do is change your spark plugs gap them the gap is .40 for that jeep and maybe a air filter if you haven't changed it since 06 for sure

Yea if you havent had a tune-up in 4 1/2 years its way overdue. Its pobably killing your gas mileage too. Especially if the air filter has never been changed. You'd be suprised how a $10 part can cut your gas mileage in half. Or how $20 in spark plugs can cause slow exceleration.

Im wondering tho if it dies when its IDLE on stop lights or something, then it could also be the fuel pump ? Just a guess here
