03 jeep grand cherokee 2wd no reverse
I got stuck in the snow alot this winter. The last time I did, it was bad. No phone, 1 in the morning, did what I had to do to get free and I'm pretty sure I messed things up. A week later I went to pull out of work and to my surprise, my jeep wouldn't back out. Had to get pulled out but drove it home just fine. It's been a couple months, so I tried to take it out tonight. 30 seconds in I hear a sound in between a grinding and squealing noise coming from what seemed to be underneath. Took a right home real fast. I'm guessing it was trying to shift but I wasnt paying attention to my speed, I was just flipping out. The trek literally took a minute. Any ideas what this could be? Done so much to this jeep now.. I feel its obviously the transmission. Forgive me if posting in the wrong section I'm not getting any sleep trying to figure out what this is!

Too many possibilities, will need to go to your local reputable trans shop for diagnosis.
I can tell you 42re transmissions are everywhere, easy to find if you want to replace, cheap and easy to rebuild...but not the most reliable or durable transmissions out there. |
