Default 02 Grand Cherokee Laredo Instrument Cluster

Before I buy a used instrument cluster I thought I would give this forum a shot. I attempted to replace all the bulbs on my instrument cluster as some had become dim over the years. There were only a few dim but I thought if I was going to invest the time of removing the panel go ahead and change out all the bulbs. I did disconnect the negative battery terminal before replacing.

After installing I could not get the new bulbs to light. There are like 17. After several times of removing and re-installing I finally got them to light up, but not everything was correct. For example the ABS stayed on and the High Beam would not light. I contacted the bulb company who said to check the polarity of the bulbs to make sure they were all installed the same way. Ah that's what the white dot was one one side of the bulb, so I did that. Now the problem is all the gauge bulbs stay on regardless, even when the light switch is turned off. The only way to turn off is disconnect the battery terminal. Also, the right directional does not work. I did revert back to the original oem bulbs, same thing. I feel I have possibly damaged the circuit board or shorted something out. I never imagined replacing bulbs would be this big a deal. If I had it to do over I would have just left it alone. I am driving will all the bulbs out except the left directional & high beam. BTW, all the gauges work correctly. I replaced the climate control bulbs too and they work fine. Any electrical specialist have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I purchased a used instrument cluster within 1300 miles of my existing. It works well. Lesson learned of being careful with bulbs.
