01 WJ What Diff Oil and Gasket?
From the little that came I up with, I came to the conclusion that it takes silicon on the diff? What kind should I use? What type of oil should I use, I guess the better question would be how do I know if I have a LSD? 80W90 should do it either way but, I think I should put a additive for the LSD if it has it. Problem is don't have too much time on this, work is being done at noon. So I don't have time to order one of those nicer no leak gaskets I see advertised online.

I think I am going to use the redline synthetic gear oil and be done with it. Since it should be fine either way. What silicon should I use?

To tell if it has a LSD, raise one rear wheel off the ground and put it in drive with parking brake off... if it turns around 360 degrees (like mine) it does not... If it is not able to turn 360 degrees, you have LSD...

Did you actually try this dave? It would be a little safer to just jack up the whole rear and give one tire a good spin,if the other tire spins the same direction it has an LSD,if it spins the opposite direction it's open.

I found out it didn't have LSD. I spinned the spindle and the other side went the other way. Thanks for the info people!
