Well this last weekend I got some more work done on the Jeep. Made me some armor with 3/16 steel then flat fenders off that with 3/8 flat stock. Welded it all together and I think it came out great. What do you guys think?

All We used to mount the fenders was 3/8 tap screws, they are stainless screws. They are more than strong enough to hold the wight of me and the brother-in-law. About 500lbs all together.

Default High Idle Switch

Well I took an old table and make a diagnostic screen with it, also got an cheep OBD Scanner.

--- Link ---
Amazon Amazon

Also made a home made case for it to sit in. Also installed a program called " LAMA" will make all of the magic happen. That will shut off the tablet when not charging. So when the jeep shuts off it will shut down. Also can set it up when you start the jeep it will turn back on, and start your programs up. If you have more questions on that you can message me.

Then a cupple of days latter I made an high idle switch for when I am going to be using my wench. I have yet to get one but soon, very soon.

So this videos is a full "How To" video, will show you what pin to connect to and everything. But remember that do everything at your own risk, you can kill your computer if you mess up!

But I do show how to run it all with a relay, and also without an relay. Let me know what you think.

Default Jeep Update

Well it has been a long time and not had a lot of time to work on the jeep. Have been thinking of lots of ideas and well one of them has come up sooner to get done than I wanted. The old girl has been leaking oil a bit from the Oil pan and valve cover gasket.

So I went out to RockAuto and got everything that I needed to do them to stop the oil leaks. Valve cover gasket, oil pan and rear main seal. Since have to oil pan off I mind as well do it at the same it.

But if anyone has any tips or tricks that makes it an easer job let me know. Going to try and make helpful videos on these jobs for anyone else trying to do the same jobs.

If it were me I would only use a Felpro pan gasket , and Felpro valve cover gasket IMHO. I posted a pic of the pan gasket those 4 plastic blue studs screws into the block to hold and line up the gasket while you are fighting with the pan trying to get it on , Then you start the other bolts and remove the blue plastic studs , it makes it much easier . If you look at the valve cover gasket it has holes for the bolts, it seals better and dose not move around . But thats me your mileage may very .

My tip for doing the oil pan gasket, pull the starter out first. And get a set of those blue stud things. They are a life saver.

Default Valve Cover and Oil Pan Gaskets

Well guys it has been a bit, I got the jeep done about a months ago and was going to post anddddd, the phone crashed and then I forgot about it all. So sorry but here is the update.

Got the everything taken out and was was not to bad. I did the valve cover gasket and that was about the easiest one to do. Found out that the back 2 bolts on the driver side are about the worst ones to do, since it is so tight back there. When I had it off I checked everything else and was looking pretty good. Not to back with 245,000 miles on her. Now to the Oil Pan.

Valve Cover Gasket Change

Now the oil pan was not bad, but also not easy. I got the jeep on the ramps so I had a little bit more working room then used the crane to pick the jeep up from the rest of the lower components and blocked it up with steel tube.So after all the redneck work being done was time to take the pan off. And unbolting it was the easy part, getting the pan out was a pain in the ***. Had a hard time clearing the bell housing and hitting it with 1/2" so the pry bar came out to give it a little help. Then the pan, I am no expert on this but I think they did the worst job on putting a new oil pan gasket it is before. Let me know what you think.
WTF is that

Oil Pan

Back of Oil Pan

Bolts

Bottom End

Oil Pump

Changed out rear main seal

Rear Main Seal and Bearing

That is what everything looked like when I took it all out. Did put a new rear main seal in. That was easy to do, also the back cam bearing looked good when I took that out. The got the oil pan gasket on the bottom of the block and then got the oil pan in the a bit of help to get it back in. And I did not use any of the blue studs, used a very very light coat of rtv just to held the gasket in place then boom. Everything was back together with no problems. Then the girl got a fresh new oil change and filter and she was back up and running.

I will say it took some time but was not really hard, I also dont have a lot of "Pro Tools" but I did get the job done.

Smile New Year Update

Ok guys it has been a long time, also it was Christmas. So that did not leave much money or time to work on the jeep.

But I was able to install a new starter the weekend before Christmas and also re-wired the starter wiring, also the ALT hot leg all to 4 Gage welding wire. They all go new ring terminal lugs to help with better connection. Also heat shrunk the wiring and labeled each ends.

NEW STARTER!

I think it is time for a new battery!

Now for Christmas I got only 2 things, better than nothing. Wife got me an multi tool for the jeep. Never seen anything like this but I guess they have had them out for a long time. Also got a farm jack for when I am on the trails, have yet to have any problems but will help if I ever do.

But guy and gales go ahead and post what you got during the Holiday season and what you are planning on doing with your Jeeps!

Thumbs up

Well it has been a long day, did the LED head lights and some hub centric wheel spacer. I know the LEDs head lights are a plus but the wheel spacers were a risk.

(I do have a locker in the Rear) Front locker coming soon.

But the LED's are LX-Light and around $95 on amazon and I think they are very much worth the money. They are way better then the factory lights, way Better!

The wheel spacers are 2" ones off amazon, they were $75 for them. They are wheel spacers. I know that they might blow out the joints quicker and there not the best. But they will do for not till I have the money to order new set of tires and wheels.

So here is the before and after pictures for today ->

Before

So many LEDS, do have lockers to!
