YETI build 2

Found my old account. So I am restarting.I named this Cherokee the yeti. I posted on a ton of forums looking for a low mileage 2 door that wasn’t beat. Everyone said I will never find one, so I should stop looking. They said I would have a better chance finding a Bigfoot. The next week I had one. So I named it yeti because it was suppose to be hard to buy one, let alone see one in captivity. It is a 1994 2dr with a 2001 front clip. It had 35s and 4 inch lift. So the rear quarters where beat from tire rubbing. It was originally owned by Washington state forestry. It has 110,00 miles. The only thing I forgot to check was the radiator before I bought it. When I got it home and looked at the water it was dark brown. So I flushed it out. Then I attempted an oil change and the filter was so tight. It took me and two friends 4 hours to get it off. Here are some pics of the first day

Crown aluminum valve cover, Davis plug wires. My idea on the notorious air bubble issue on the upper radiator hose and I needed to add an electric thermostat for the electric fans

Electric triple fan conversion. I bought the first radiator from amazon, what a pile of junk, the lower oil cooler fitting that goes to the transmission was made of brass and wouldn’t tighten down right to the radiator that came with the kit. I returned it and bought a champion radiator, with triple fans, shroud and fittings. From ebay for $335.Fit good, but was a little wider then the stock or amazon radiator, so I had to mod the bolt in upper radiator panel and cut around the radiator cap. I wired one fan to the air conditioner and the other two to a dual 185 on electric fan thermostat kit I got from summit racing

I have owned three Cherokees and have hated the brakes on all three. I switch over to a 1994 Ford Exploder 8.8 disc brake rear end. Put on drilled slotted rotors with ceramics pads. Brake still sucked, removed abs and brakes still sucked. Then I switch to a summit racing double booster and cast corvette style master cylinder and ssbc adjustable proportion valve. Brakes where better but still sucked. Then I desided to convert to hydroboost. I have seen a couple conversion kits on eBay for like $800. I did mine for about $300. I bought hydroboost for a 1994 Chevy Astro van, use one of my existing power steering lines, and one Astro van hydroboost line. The only thing I had to do was to make a longer rod that goes between the hydroboost and master cylinder. With a large all thread and nut. Now it stops like a porshe

Added body cadding, sprayed bed liner on the front fenders, quarters and hood stripes. The I paint matched the 2001 front fenders to the 1994 white. Also shovel, axle and high lift jack roof rack mounted. Also couldn’t stand the 31” tires. I only put about 15 miles on them. The tires looked to small. So I went to to discount tires and and exchanged them. I just had to pay for dismounting and mounting. But it looks a lot better.

I swapped out the 1994 interior and added 2001 interior. The drivers side has power track and the passenger has a 2001 2 door cherokee forward flip track. have dealing with cloth base on the drivers seat. So I had it covered vinyl. It does match it just has bad lighting. Installed a 2001 center console and a factory speaker rear headliner mounted speaker pod.
