So unfortunately the other weekend closed out a different Jeep chapter in my life. My 96xj finally called it quits. After taking much abuse and carrying me, my companions, and its previous owners over 270,000 miles (enough to cross the world over 10 times) I decided to put he down and not fix the transimission.



Still upset about the unseen defeat I was browsing craigslist and found what will be the next chapter in my XJ career. I found an Identical match of my cherokee. Only stock, white, 95% less rust, and of course 150,000 less miles! Picked it up for $2,200 and I have to say I think I made the right buy. So far nothing is wrong but I plan on doing some basic work to her anyways before I start swapping parts from the donor. Let me know what you guys think! pics to follow. Sorry, have to post pictures off of my phone. But the pics of the black jeep are of the one who just bit the dust. The white one is the XJ in town. Still getting used to no lift right now haha

I left the firehouse today planning on putting an entire day into part swapping and some cosmetic work into the xj. Sadly there is a torrential downpour outside right now and it is going to be going on all week.

Here is a list on the to do list:
-Brakes (swapping rotors and replacing pads)
-Rear brakes (swap drums but replace all hardware and shoes)
-Headliner


-Swap Head Units and consider new speakers.
-Replace thermostat and possibly water pump (proactive moves)

Mods will come in after I get all of my parts over from the DONOR jeep.
