Well this is my second cherokee i had one as my first vehicle when i was 16 but it was totaled by a on coming wheel that fell off a car going south bound while i was going north bound and the wheel bounced over the median and hit me. i then got a powerstroke started working in the oil feild and ended up with my new Tundra but i felt like i was missing something in life..

Found this bad boy in San Antonio for $1200 wasnt supposed to make it home as the guy had no confidence in it but $1000 later i was putting air in the tires and filling it up with gas and a $100 battery i was down the road back home. Made it home no problems ran great when warmed up. stutters a little when cold but i can fix it.. 1997 Cherokee 218,000 miles Clear is fadding diff leaking runs a little rough on start up. Interior trim cracked and broken seat trim broken missing dome light, roof interior sagging typical.. carpet gross seats stained.. but hey im happy

Attachment 324012 Right when i bought it.

Attachment 324013 Home and in the drive way.

I have already ordered a 4.5 lift 16 D-CUT rockcrowler rims and NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS 265/75/16

Changed out the cluster Guages to where i would have a tach oil pressure guage and etc got some sending units off of a Grand cherokee and they worked. Also ordered all new LED Cluster lights will post pictures tonight once i install them.

found passenger side seat trim but no luck at the pic and pull for door interior trim..

have a extra cluster gauge out of a 98 and up cherokee if anyone needs one. i hated the dummy lights.

sun visors found out at the local pick and pull 15 bucks for the pair cant beat that look almost new..

well i will take some more pics when i get home and more of the lift and tires when they come in.

Thanks to all that have posted in the build thread great work and awesome ideas!

nice looking XJ...body looks rust free which IMO is key. Everything else is easy to fix :) Good luck with it :)

You know you're gonna have to do it sooner or later...and best done while the weather is warm :D

Looking forward to your build, me thinks you're gonna do it proper :)
