Default The XJ Sheriff

Hey guys, so i picked up a 98' Cherokee sometime in May of '14, and just now finally started building it up. The car came fairly stock other than the fact that it (from what I was told) used to be a Sheriff's car from the county I Picked it up at. I decided to get a Jeep since one of my close friends had a 95' YJ and thought "hell might as well get a jeep too". I saw the craigslist ad, and picked up this beauty the day I emailed the guy.

It had a spotlight, a bunch of (so far) useless antenna's, a cage in the back, and bars on the windows of the old doors I had, which I've already swapped with new ones since the whole door opening mechanism was completely gone (you know to keep them law-breakers locked in the backseat).

For the last few months she's been nothing but amazing, and other than a few cosmetic and interior mods, I hadn't done much, until a few weeks ago.

Throughout the last few months I haven't done much to it so far, but just recently I picked up a RC 3-inch add-a-leaf kit, and threw that on there, along with some 32" Falken's, and so far thats been the only big mod I've done. This is what it looks like now.

Is this an actual police model XJ or one that was outfitted with some do-dads? Does it have the 4th switch in between the power outlets for extended idle!? And btw I love the spotlight. I've always wanted one.

Yeah I forgot it has exterior idle too, it's great in the morning to warm her up, it only boosts about 100 rooms though, and as far as I know it was actually a police model, even though the vin doesn't say anything about it. It had the number "593" etched into both bumpers, and there's also green paint in the cracks and crevasses of the jeep, which goes with the color of the old sheriffs vehicles. And it also has a wig wam, which is some kind of head light flasher. But basically, other than the exterior idle, the department after they decommissioned is, just cut everything that wasn't stock, so the wiring sucks pretty bad.
And thanks man, I love the spotlight too, but I still need to rewire back up.

Thank you, and definitely, it adds a uniqueness that I haven't seen on any other xj in the area, which I love haha.
