XJ Fender Flares
4 Attachment(s)
Well, I'm already running a 4.5" lift and 32" tires, but was still rubbing and popping the flares off now and then on the trail. So I got fender flares from Notch Customs and finished the install.
They were a bit of work, because you cut out a lot of metal, but it was totally worth it. I think they look sweet. Apparently some other company used to sell these, but I guess people couldn't get them anymore. The guys at Notch acquired the molds, and they're making them now. I'm thinking I've gotta do bumpers next. |
Sorta looks like the iceland offroad flares. Look a little bit different tho. I just wonder if they're as strong as the iceland flares were, i know they were pretty damn stout.

Not bad at all. Price? $$$$

They come primed, not painted. I did that myself, and went all out, matching the color, so that was some added $, but I thought it was worth it. I guess you could rattle-can them black pretty cheap, but I wanted to keep my all-white look |

Yeah, way stronger than bushwackers!
They're pretty dang close, but I did use filler on mine. I really do get out on the trail, but I'm still of the mindset that I want it too looks as good as possible. It's more work, but I like it. A little bit of filler, and an extra half hour made them look seamless with the body. The fit was close enough that I think most people could do a little bit of sanding on the flares, and be just happy. I can't really blame Notch for not having a millimeter-exact fit, though, since everyone's XJ is more than a decade old, so it would never be the same on two vehicles, you know. |

NIIIIIIIIIIIIICE XJ!!!!
Planning on bigger tires? My xj looks alot like yours. Have 31s on now.. if I move up to 33x12.50, definitely going to consider these flares. |
I'll probably switch to 35's, but I'm going to do the rear end, transfer case, and drive line first. Hopefully soon.
I know two guys that run a 4.5" lift and 35's with this set of flares, and don't rub at all, so 33's would still have plenty of room. |
At first glance, i didn't even notice they weren't stock except that your wheel wells were much bigger... They really came out nice.
Great Job. |

Great Job. I love the look. Very clean looking, and almost stock in appearance, but still great functionality out of them. :-) |
Thanks!
That's exactly why I went with them, and why I had them painted white to match. They're not in-your-face, bulky, black, with bolt holes everywhere... They're just awesome. |
