You're absolutely correct Ralph. I didn't notice it till I went to use it. I was aware of the torque specs. It got me through today. I think it has one more notch past 150 ? I kinda like to err on the lighter side of the adjustment, but still yet. I'll have to exchange it for the Krikit II, which is what I ordered ! Leave it up to eagle eye Ralph to bust my chops !!! LOL !!!

The only reason I noticed it was cause when I was thinking of buying mine I saw two different types. So of course I had to figure out which one I wanted. I used to just use the "Yeah that looks about right" method. Worked fine with my '96. My '00 on the other hand is picky about belt tension. Which is why I decided to buy the tool. One thing I did discover after I bought the tool is that my "Yeah that looks about right" method was not even close to being right. LOL.

Your just like me ! I'll probably just buy the other one. I can still use this one on my other cars. In fact, it would probably be the better choice for those. The Cherokee has abnormally high tension ! Not sure what I will do tomorrow? Either or all ,,, check for oil leaks, again, on my distributor gasket and the oil filter adapter! I just replace both of them about 2 mos ago with FelPro ? 2 of the FelPro gaskets didn't even fit right ? I'm thinking that the third one was wrong too ? This time I ordered a set of Crowns. We'll see what happens.. I don't think that it's distributor. I can see oil all around the adapter ? I hate doing **** twice ! Then replace my valve cover grommet torque spacers and washers. I got to replace my Dana 30 pinion seal too ! That should keep me busy. Next I want to start fixing my wiring on my speakers. windows and door locks. Going to resolder the main panel too. Then do my headliner ! I also added a new set of the rubber lift gate bumpers today ! Also cleaned up the hardware on my battery hold down. It's the little thangs, They all add up !!! I'm chippin' away at it !!! I'm also thinking about rebuilding my steering box, leaky, leaky !!!

Default More Goodies !!! Parts, not headache powder!!!

Well, haven't done much lately. Sold off all of the old tires and wheels. I've been enjoying the fruits of my labor ! The Jeep is a pure joy to drive! Draws attention like a sleezy bleach blond !!! I see heads turning all the time ! Got some more parts coming ! A *****in' set of the poly tranny and engine mounts from XJWONDERS. Located the OEM parts, or they found me,,, From JHC799, ie, Jeff Carter. Here's what I am getting ! Original fog lights, OEM tire carrier and all three OEM skid plates! I also went ahead and pulled the trigger on a decent SSTL header from ebay. Been looking for a decent one with 1/2" flange. I got it for like $114. Plus I used a $10 coupon and $8.25 in ebay bucks, so I have about $96 in it. So, I been helping out an older lady across the street. I've been doing some chores for her. Her husband past away recently. I'll be back to the Jeep next week ! Still have a bunch of little things to tie up ! I think next month, I'll be concentrating on the total exhaust rebuild. The header, new down pipe, new Magna flow hi flo cat, Walker SSTL quiet flow muffler, all new hangers and clamps with a Dynaflo 2.5" SSTL tail pipe. The next stage will be installation of the 62mm throttle body and new 784 injectors!!! My bucket list is about to get shorter !!!

Default XJ Parts Road Trip !!!

Ok, so today I drove to Alexandria, Kentucky, about 2hrs away, to meet up with JHC799, aka Jeff Carter. Some of you may know him from the sellers section I've bought from him several times, solid, great guy ! I got all three skid plates, manual transmission crossmember, OEM Foglamps and an OEM rear tire carrier. Got a good deal on the parts and enjoyed the trip !!! It was good to meet another member and get to chat ! No big rush on installing the new parts. Probably have them all powder coated first, plus I have to figure out what all hardware I'll need. I already have a beefy set of nut strips for the tank. I figure I'll tackle that, when I do the rear springs and HD shackle brackets all at the same time. Then go from there with the tire carrier. As for the front skid, could be done about any time, but I may wait till after the lift, to line it up good. The TC skid will be installed then too, along with the manual transmission crossmember to lower my drive line. I plan on installing the new poly tranny and engine mounts from XJWONDERS before the lift. Next month, will be the exhaust. Slowly but surely getting there !!! I think I'm going to slow down on the spending! I've had 3 mos this year so far over $1k spent !!! Think I may set a budget of only $200-$300 per month ! That way it will force me to start doing all of the little things to keep me busy. Will update with progress later !!!

Would like to see shots of the parts of the tire carrier. Looked at the parts I am missing in parts catalogs. But those are just drawings. Would like to get a better look at them. This is what I picked up sometime ago.
