well guys im a newb but know the xj and its capabilities ive been driving around lately and dont see many jeeps in the gainesville area and got to thinking none of them run big tires and the tjs are outnumbering us so here is my plan :::

1996 jeep xj sport
auto
inline 6
dana 30 and chry 8.25
4inch lift 31/10.50/15

my plan run 38/12.50/15or16
on a 4 inch lift with trimming but keep the thing looking like a xj
dana 44 frnt and rear
new control arms
deep well rims with spacers so i can turn at least


delima ECONOMY SUCKS
gas sucks

Goal
Stand up for the xjs and tower over the wranglers but of course i cant compete with the mud trucks here lol

only concern would be will the axles hold up to the 38s. i run a 44/60 combo and wont go any bigger than 37s without going full chromo up front and 35 spline conversion in rear

Imo, 38's are to much for a 30/8.25 combo

yes the axles are holding me down i plan on doing this but bc of money my jeep on 38's will be seeing very few trails for a while until i can buy some good axles and i kinda do mudd and trails but nothing extreme just lettin u know ...also nice jeep

Isn't a 4" lift a little short to fit 38's? Even with trimming

4 inch lift gonna require a lot of trim im running 38s on 30 and 35 but i dont beat it unless its needed

oh yea i forgot to mention i plan on doing a 2 inch add on lift consisting of new springs and shackles i got em for free

wow thanks for opening my eyes looks like imma hav to bug my uncle for his full width dana 60's but yea looks like ill be trimming alot

if u look at the very top with all the jeeps the guy with the blue one is runnin a 5" lift with 37s
