Whats your pick for the best year xj to build and why?

Killed the engine in mine, and sold one of my many projects so am now looking to buy another xj when I get my taxes back. I have a 91 and was going to lift it and put it on 33" tires but now with the rod knock I don't see it, it's rusted out pretty bad so was going to just loft it and bash it till it fell apart anyway but with the engine bout to die at any time I don't see it, and the rust makes me think a new engine is not in the cards for it. But maybe for one with no rust I can see a stroker lol

99. most motor. fewest emmisions crap. still has a high pinion d30. 760 joints. 29spline 8.25. nice new interior. no wing windows.
