What is this piece in my oil pan?
 

Hello all, I was hoping one of you could help me find the source of this piece I found in my oil pan of my 95 Cherokee. It has a metal inner lining but the exterior feels like a ceramic piece. I'm completely stumped after looking on the internet for hours. I appreciate the help.
