what happens when you party naked

so when i was 17 i purchased a nice stock 94 4dr 5sp xj
http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...772fac5b-1.jpg
it had a metric s%$t ton of miles on it. but drove perfect.
i lifted it. slapped 31s on it. some bumpers, and wheeled it like that for a few years.
http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...ar26-10285.jpg
then, my mother in arizona gave me her jeep. a 96 2dr 5sp 2wd.
http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...izona001-1.jpg
me and a buddy flew out and was gonna drive it home. on the east side of phoenix the stupid thing blew up. shot a freeze plug out, and cracked the block. needless to say i eventually got it home. that uhaul hated us.
so one afternoon me and some buddies decided it would be awesome to have a 4wd 2dr 5sp xj. so after a few cases of beer, i woke up the next morning and found my blue 4dr in a million pieces.
so i kept working on it and after a week or two i swapped the entire drivetrain out of my blue 4dr into the green 2dr.

it drove like a dream. then i wheeled the piss out of it. one night at a buddys farm i woke to find the jeep covered in mud, the front skid ripped off and all the steering bent, the rear ring and pinion broke, and the rear yoke was broke. apparently while airborne my jeep assasinated a small tree. i had it fixed with the new rear axle by noon the next day.

then scored some military OD green. some soft 8s, trimmed the fenders.

then i took it to badlands for naxjas winterfest eleventy

then i did this.

http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y..._4564406_n.jpg
it blew the engine. bent #1 and shot #6 through the block. it was pretty awesome.

http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...rfest11025.jpg
http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...rfest11031.jpg
luckily i had a spare motor i forgot about. i put it in. its an 89 block, 94 head, 96 intake.
http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...rfest11014.jpg

had it together in 3 days. had to yank the carpet. but other than that it runs like a sewing machine.

the sad thing is, im on my 3rd motor, did a drivetrain swap, made it 2wd to 4wd, painted it, destroyed the interior, and ive only owned it for less than 6 months.

God damn. Drive it like you stole it, eh?

nappyxj 04-05-2011 09:08 AM

i actually drive like an old man. i never speed or anything. but off road my throttle only has an on or off switch. no in between. lol

dont get me wrong, i understand how to wheel and throttle control and picking lines, blah blah blah.

it comes down to this, theres guys that crawl, and theres guys that throttle. the guys that crawl dont break as much. but the guys that throttle put on one hell of a show.

ive never seen a story so remarkable identical to mine. I have a green 2 door that I also throttle through everything and also hydro locked blowing a rod out of the block. and ruined the carpet.

That was a very good read. Thanks for the entertainment!

thanks! this jeep is alot of fun. luckily i got enough parts to rebuild the thing again if i wanted to. next project is a home made snorkel, spare tire carrier, and mount my winch on the front. in another year or two ill add a few more inches of lift and 33s and lower gears.
