and im makin some progress again!
so to start off, i made a great snag off of a local xj owner who was tryin to sell their jeep...
for 120 i got......
this beefy *** swingout bumper:
and a like new trailer hitch:
Sorry for the aweful pic.
SOMEHOW, i got my rusted old factory trailer hitch off without breaking ONE bolt...... the good lord was on my side i believe.. haha
but after a couple more coats of 97cent flat black paint, i mounted it
i feel like i made out with QUITE a damn good deal
the bumper actually used stock bumper brackets which had some stress cracking, so i ordered these off of quadratech:
http://www.quadratec.com/products/52449_0194.htm
theyre coming in today
and i am gonna reinforce them with some more steel
THEN
I come home from work to see these babies sittin in my garage
gonna get em mounted soon.. once i have the moolah.. spent too much this week on my cherokee anyway.....
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, i hd snagged a pair of tj flares from my friend tim.. still need to give him his money... but didn't like how the fronts looked on mine, so my buddy rob- AKA: Stealthcherokee hooked me up at the local jeep shop with some more rears!
after 4 coats of spray on bedliner, theyre ready to be mounted
I'll actually be spending the day with Clayton3854 doing some cutting, folding and fender mounting
i guess you could call it a cutting party!
so stay posted, more pictures are coming soon!

yes, ethan it was definately a good cutting party, hahah get better soon man!
heres some pics of the progress ive made in the past couple of days...
So after ripping apart the mounting system for my bumper, i realzed that a stock bumper bracket was by no means gonna do the trick, so i did some extra fabbing..
layed down a pretty neat bead
Then, i welded it in and mounted it up (lots of grinding was done in case anyone was wondering, also, i welded a steel plate to the mounting surface for extra support and weight distribution)
LOVE how it looks, still gives plenty of room to use the hitch, and its going NOWHERE also mounted my whip to it
after looking at it compared to my LQP's, i decided i wanted to do a slight cutn' fold.. along with cutting and folding the rear fenders and paint em.....
heres a pic of the cutn fold... i also forgot to mention, i had some holes in the rockers that had been addressed with some filler by the previous owner, so i tacked some new metal in there and bondo'd it.. didnt go crazy with it but it looks ok painted
i also have a pretty bad gas leak from around my gas pump, i put a ton of rtv around the seal and so far the smell has dissapeared

unfortunately tonight i overfilled my gas tank and spilled some on my new paint and OFF it went when i wiped off the gas.. oops haha. also, i got hooked up today with 4 free bags of equal internal tire balance and i should be mounting onto my 10 wides soon if my friend with a tire machine ever gates back to me!
AND the bedliner on my flares peeled right off like one's skin would after a sun burn... so while i have been waitin' to put them puppies on, i cut em and made sure they fit my body lines okay..

today i taped up all of my rear tj flares to see how i liked emm...... i liked em alot so they will be goin on soon after i paint em flat black
next, i finally mounted my tires onto my new steelies never heard of anyone havin these wheels, but i love em! they are 10" wide with 4" backspacking. I internally balanced them with EQUAL and absolutely love this stuff... thanks stealthcherokee
I also mounted my aluminum rim to my one good KM1 tht i had left from my original set... notice the tinted tail lights also and DAMN i lov this thing's new stance....
now to tackle my disgustingly leaky gas tank... i was going to try to use a newer xj tannk, but it looks like it wont fiut right electronically, so im gonna hafta pick a metal one from the junkyard

heres a pic of the gas leak... its around the seam in the tank .. or so it seems. if you look carefully above the hitch, you can see that its wet all the way along that ridge

so i'm still on the search for a new tank, probally will get a zj gas tank skid form someone off CL to protect the replacement one once i do find one....
for now, not fillin it past 3/4 works just fine.
so i finally had warm and dry enough weather to mount my tj flares (all rears)
im pumped on how it looks. i also cut a lot in the front, so I don't rub one bit even at full flex!
no rear rubbing and front is bumpstopped so that s the farthest shell go
pretty happy where im at right now. the other day I mounted some tabs to the rear of my rack and ran wiring up to them, so soon eough i will have some lights on there. and also i am buying JCR stage III sliders off of mcguyver_xj this coming weekend (payday haha)
so keep posted, shes startin to shape up!

How did you do your taillights? Spray paint or tint roll? Just looks great!
And awesome jeep, I'm a sucker for the reds.

Thanks!
I used the VHT spray... figured if i didnt like it i could snag some JY lights for 10 bucks anyway.... i think theese taillights may be too intricate to do the vinyls style.
FYI if you do yours... mine is only two coats and they are too black, try to get one nice even one...

Hey, love the build. If you end up not liking those fender flares, Theres a Body mold kit you can get at auto stores, And it just presses on to the fender, Made mine look SO much better. Hides all those un even cuts
