Wagoneer Trail Beater
I figured I would do my intro along with the start of my build thread to save me some time. I've always been into jeeps and have a JK Rubicon Unlimited as my daily driver. My girlfriends family has about 55 acres in the middle of Kansas with perfect trails for wheeling but it's some thick timber so I figured I would pick up something cheap to beat up out in the woods and not worry about getting scratched up.
I picked this 87 Wagoneer Limited up for 500 bucks and gave myself a budget of $2000 to get it ready for the woods.
I got the 30x9.5x15 KM2s and wheels off of craigslist and they are like brand new.
Then I ordered up a 3" Rusty's kits and started replacing the brakes and ball joints while I was installing that.
My dad owns a car lot so it's nice to have a lift and someone else's work area to get real dirty.
Did some minor fender trimming while it was in the air.
And scored some nice seats to replace mine at the junk yard.
Finally rolled it out of the shop today and made my mom pose with it so people could tell how tall it really is now.
So here is what really pissed me off. As I was backing out the garage with my XJ a nice ZJ rolled onto my dad's lot and the guy traded it in for a Lincoln! Could have saved me some trouble, but I really like the XJ more. Oh well looks like I have some parts to rob off of it now (roof rack and KC lights).

Here are a couple more pictures after I put it away for the evening.
There isn't much left to do to it, I've basically hit my budget getting to this point. I plan on doing a few little things like painting the bottom of it with bed liner to cover the rust and cleaning it up some more. I also may build some bumpers for it, but I don't really want to invest anymore into this turd.

Haven't had much time to work on the XJ because i'm back at school now, but today I got around to painting the bottom and flares with some bed liner. It covers the rust nicely.
Also robbed a firestick off of a YJ at my dads car lot. Not sure if I'll keep it in this location or not.
And you can see in the pictures where my dad started building a roof rack for it. I didn't like the shape and size he did so I'll probably redo it. Should look more like the JCR rack when I'm done.
