virgin cherokee

Hey kids, I'm new here and would like to say this site has been extremely informational.. I've been doing alot of research on how to smallish and affordable lift on my jeep.. I want to get a set of 31's under it without trimming.. From what i've read in here I'll need at least 3 inches of lift..

Here's my plans let me know what ya's think..

rockyroad 3" budget lift including 3" coil spacers 1 1/2 inch shackle plus 1 1/2 inch blocks.

15x8x10.5 soft s's - thinking 4 inch of back spacing??

31x8x10.5 treadwright warden recaps..

I should be able to have a fun little toy between 800-900 dollars when all is said and done..

Please share your opinions, and or suggestions..

Thank You

If you go 3 inch, get springs and full leaf packs (or an AAL if your springs aren't saggy). Lift blocks are a big no-no.
Do it right the first time.
Welcome.

I'd Do a Full Leaf Pack. I went AAL on my Jeep. They don't sag as much but I don't Wanna put a Bunch of Stuff back there cause it would sag. So get some full packs

Lol it's never all said and done with an xj

The main reason i'm looking into a budget type of lift is basically due to my lack of funds lol.. Treadwright doesn't offer the tires i want in a 30 inch, from what i've gathered through info in this forum I need to have at least 3 inches of lift to clear 31's?? I've seen a few posts saying that blocks are bad. Why are blocks bad? Do they make a 3 " add a leaf?

The jeep currently has different wheels and tires. This is what started this whole idea of lifting it.. This jeep will certainly be tested by more pot holes than any off road terrain.. I'm trying to figure out what my best option is for the budget lifts.. :dunno:

Thanks

Look into an s10 bastard pack for the rear. It's pretty cheap, works about the same as an add a leaf and is customizable and expandable in the future up to like 5.5in. There's a ton of tutorials on the forum

you should do a whole lot more research before you start buying lift parts.

I've been on the site and others learning for a few years and still didnt end up happy with my lift. If i could do it over I would go for a full 4.5" lift system. right not im running lift coils plus spacer up front and add a leaf with shackle in rear untill I install my New RE 3.5" leaf packs and I'm still going to change a few other parts when I can.

BTW I was running 31" baja claws on a 1.5-2" lift only did a small amount of trimming to my front bumper caps (I have a 98) if my rims werent so offset I probably wouldn't have had to trim.

also you will most likely need shocks with a 3". you're suspension travel will be limited by your shocks.

Yea go full front spring and at least AAL in the rear. Do not use blocks!! And 3" spacers are way to tall the max I'd go on spacers is 1.5"

Guess i'll be doing more research.. Whats the proper back spacing for 31x10.5 15
