Vehicle number 6, my 96 Cherokee!

Figured I should get this started before I get too far behind.
This is vehicle number 6 that I currently own. Number 10 overall. Always an avid lover of Fords that spans many generations I got a bronco an it wasn't loved and I thought I'd bring it back to life. Long story short it caught on fire and is sitting in a parking lot. On to the important part. I bought a 96 Dark green Cherokee classic with 430k on it :icon_cheesygrin: Rebuilt engine within the last 30k. Bottom line runs great needs a little love and I got it cheap so I am happy. The day I brought it home. Attachment 363781 Attachment 363782 I'll add some more later. Hope you like it. |

First thing I noticed after the brakes were some driveline vibrations. So I opted for the hack and tap from IRO.
Attachment 363734 We took off about an inch and a quarter and then noticed the output shaft was bent. Screw me right? Well its not too bad and the vibes went away about 80% so I can only assume that they would be completely gone if it weren't bent. Also I noticed the belt was a little crack so I changed that too. A little. Lol Attachment 363735 |

The re-leafing of Savannah the jeep.
My rear leafs were flat as i gets without being bowed the wrong way so i replaced them with some 4.5 inch rough country's.
Before: http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/fd922857.jpg http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D802DDEA0.jpg http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D91DBDF18.jpg Ran into the typical weldnut problem... http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D951D9F82.jpg Cut it up and put a new nut in http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D9CF56101.jpg Then ran into another problem, a small amount of pressure is all it took to twist the stud off my shock. http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D9FF2D093.jpg Almost done: http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D870C88D8.jpg Shackle angle: http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D8EF930CD.jpg After: http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...7D83C43CE7.jpg I ended up having horrible driveline vibes so i ordered some shims. I guess i measured wrong and the 6 degrees were too much so I'm going to have to try again but the springs have help a huge amount. Now to start fixing everything they messed up. |

Been a while since i updated but I have done a ton of stuff since last time.
My steering was was horrible so i narrowed it down the gear box http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1244.jpg Nearly broke the puller trying to get the pitman arm off. http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1243.jpg I have the new durango box waiting to go in but waiting on my steering box spacer to come in. And new HD steering! |
Finally had a nice day to paint the L&L Fab bumper!
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1235.jpg It's only sitting on with 2 bolts right now because i need to bend the unibody back out a bit from the previous owner. http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1242.jpg |
And while the pinion bearing was shot i decided I'd gear it up a little and use a 4cyl rear end. Lucky for me I got an entire 4 cyl cherokee from a friend for free! Parts jeep FTW!
So we pulled my rear http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1251.jpg http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...h/IMG_1252.jpg And then we swapped the rear ends from the 4cyl Just finished up replacing the hard brake lines from the master cyl all the way back. Also replaced my rubber hose with one from a dakota for extra flex. |
