Yes as I mentioned the blocks were the BDS system...can’t believe they never did R&D on that setup...the axle wrap was terrible...quickly remedied with a floating traction bar for a while then we did a XJAX iron man fab shackle relocation and got 15 inches of travel out of those springs in the rear! I’ll post it in the next few days! Thanks for the reply! Haha yes username from my old gaming days kinda follows me around 👍🏻

Fast forward a few years to 2017 and a few changes were made...tires wore out and we needed to get some 17 inch wheels and new KM2 rubber since no one made 37s for 15 inch rims any more outside of swampers perhaps. Also upgraded steering to some DOM goodness. Gone through several sets of BDS bushings and rod end rebuild pieces (and their new "upgraded" design bushings)...terrible rod ends always wearing out...

The XJ had been my brothers daily driver for several years now and he got himself a TJ and gave the XJ back to my dad who decided to so some more upgrades....this was the last wheeling trip made with version #2 of the XJ with the new wheels and tires/traction bar/1 ton steering upgrades.

In November 2017 dad decided to do a Superduty swap on the Ultimate XJ...we snagged a dirt cheap 1999 F250 Dana 50 with 5.38 gears and a locker already in it...and a 2005 Sterling 10.5 with disc brakes for the rear...the front Dana 50 is 69.25 WMS to WMS and the 2005 rear sterling is 70 in WMS to WMS which gave us a even track front to rear....also using some American Racing Ansel 17x9 wheels in the 8x170MM pattern with 5.7 inches of backspacing to tuck the tires in the fenders as much as possible...want it to look as "sleeper" as possible if thats even possible with a sterling hanging under your XJ....the front Dana 50 was shaved and gave us another 1.5 to 2 inches of ground clearance over a 60...internally it has a .5 inch larger ring gear than the 44 and the stub shafts are Dana 60 size ujoints and 30 spline....the inner shafts neck down to Dana 44 size at the carrier which is still strong than a vanilla 44 due to the "twist" torque factor at the neck down...we will see how it goes...pinion is the same diameter as a 44...only thing we broke on the 44 was a stub shaft at the hub so I think we will be set on this end...a 60 is always better but the D50 is very different and we like being different than everyone else in some cases...we put a Yukon Zip Locker (old design ARB) in the Sterling with 5.38 10.25 gears...
