I forget exactly how much the DS was since I bought it with my SYE, but Tom Woods will build and ship yours the day after your order. They may even do it same day if you order early enough. They're in Utah though if that changes anything. As I hear, both are great choices, so I don't think you can go wrong.
At this point I've blown my budget so hard that I deserve to be taken on a fancy date. $40 is $40, so I'll probably go with Adam's.

I had a pretty productive weekend. Still a lot of work to do, but at least it rolls.

Thanks!
Thanks man! And no driving yet. Hell I didn't even drive it out of the garage, I just rolled it out to clean up. I still have to work on the steering, alignment, bleeding the brakes and double/triple checking all of the parts/bolts that have been installed. I'm not comfortable with the condition of the tie rod end on the drag link, so I'll probably pick up a replacement from Oreilly's house brand. I was going to spend the money on a Moog, but I plan on upgrading the steering in the not so distant future so I may as well save a few bucks.

Thanks! There are plenty of builds on here that have helped me put the ideas together. I see you've only have a couple of posts, whats the story with your Jeep?
After grilling a few steaks when I got home yesterday, I put the new Zerk fittings in and got to work. The pack I got ended up having 4 straights, 2 90*s and 2 45*s which allowed me to really get the best angle based on how the arms are to be installed. I love seeing the difference in quality between factory and these after market arms.

I made some good progress last night. Got all of the arms, coils and stops installed. This evening I'll work on the track bar, discos and shocks. Depending on how all of that goes I may have this thing rolling today or tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I've got some respect for somebody as young as you doing your research to make sure you get what. I bought my first vehicle at 15 and still have it to this day.

So a little update...
I changed the tie rod end on the drag link, it was in poor shape and I had a hard time getting the castle nut to go back on. I bought the O'Reilly's house brand instead of spending a little more money on a Moog. I plan on replacing the steering fairly soon anyway, so no point in wasting the money. I did my "alignment" yesterday and finally got the axle centered and the track bar mounted. The instructions said to mount the heim joint first (which I did, that was done before the shocks went in) and to mount the bottom after the vehicle was back on the ground. Looking back it seems like it would have been a lot easier to do the bottom first and heim joint after. I didn't have enough room to adjust the track bar with it being mounted that way.
Punch list for this evening:
- Adjust drag link to straighten steering wheel
- Bleed brakes
- Double/triple check for bolt tightness on ALL of the new parts
- Grease any remaining fittings that need it
Am I missing anything?
If I can get all of that done I'm going to drive it (very slowly) down to the front end shop in the morning and let them do a full blown alignment.

Just checking, you waited to tighten and torque everything down, after it was back on all fours, right? Needs to be on it's own weight before tightening and torquing.
Personally, I would have them check the balance on your wheels and tires. Ive been fighting mine for the last year and they were never right, so they wore like ****. Now I need to get new tires.
Drive it a little after you get that stuff done. You'll probably have driveline vibes, but they can be tricky (only at certain speeds). At least get an idea of how it feels to drive a lifted jeep.

Thanks for the advice, Fitz. Yes I did wait until it was down before tightening everything, I just wanted to go back and make sure I didn't miss anything.
After knocking out my punch list I drove it to the store last night. It was a very rewarding feeling, hard to explain. But this is a huge accomplishment for me, I still can't believe that I was able to do this. I've learned so much over the last month.
I had to pull the front flares and trim the bumper caps. I may try to trim the flares and little and put them back on for now, but I probably need to go ahead and just order the Bushwacker flats. It rode so much better than it did on the shot stock suspension. Slight vibes on acceleration, but not anything like I was expecting given that I didn't do the transfer case drop kit (since I'm doing the SYE and CV shaft).

Looking good RamRod!
I sure like my BW flares.
My girl liked the look of your vent visors, so we ordered some and we're putting them on tomorrow. This keeps up, we're gonna have to do a Twins Jeep run and see how many look a likes we can get together.
Keep up the good work. I dig the classic look with the polished wheels.

I wasn't satisfied with the crappy finish that the bumper caps had. It looked better after the Meguiars, but it was still splotchy and I didn't like the half shine it had. So I pulled them, used a degreaser to get the dressing off, lightly sanded them with 180 grit sand paper, wiped them clean and applied two coats of Duplicolor Bed Armor. I was blown away with how nice these turned out. The texture and finish are just right, reminds me of the fenders off of the new Wranglers.
Shout out to Bmoflaz, even though we went a different rouute, I got the idea from his "Busted Knuckles" build thread.

So last weekend I took the Jeep out on it's maiden voyage. About 20 miles into the trip I was sitting at an intersection and smoke started coming from the front passenger side. I pulled into a parking lot after fighting to keep it from pulling hard to the right. It was coming from the brakes, I'm guess it was a caliper issue. The brakes weren't too great in stock form, so I can imagine the extra toll of the 33's didn't take long to put it over the edge. I limped it home without using the brakes (downshifting and E-brake), parked it in the garage and haven't touched it since. I know it probably won't be an expensive fix, but I'm just tired of pouring money it at the moment and decided I needed to take a break. I'm going on a camping trip all next week and I'll probably get back on it when I get back. My girlfriend ordered me the ROLA rack for my birthday, so that should be in when we get back as well. If nothing else, I do like to look at it sitting in the garage
