TX RamRod's '99 Cherokee Sport Build: "Choctaw Bingo"

Man that looks awesome!! Your jeep looks amazing especially out there getting muddy and trail time.
Those 1 Tons are a beast and I would love to have one
I noticed you are running stock Tie Rod in front any plans to upgrade that to the V8 ZJ or even 1 Ton steering? You had no problems so that is good but I would suspect that to cause issues later. Unless my eye's were playing tricks on me and that is upgraded.

Those rigs with tons were awesome, but they were wayyyyy too wide. There are so many trails we went on that there was no way they could hit them. I get that it's got a different purpose, but I like to be able to do a variety of riding.
I had a full HD steering set up laying in the bed of my truck in case I damaged anything. I pulled it off of the axles that I ended up not using, but I don't plan on running it. CavFab steering is in my very near future. There is some video footage of me jumping up and slamming that front diff cover on a rock, after seeing that I'm for sure going OTK. Which means I'll be doing the CavFab track bar relocation as well. Nothing is ever easy lol.
Thanks, I'm addicted! I've never been an adrenaline junkie, but I got rush out of this trip that I've never had before. I can't wait to go back.

Just browsed through the whole thread. Nice to see it being built up from stock.
Nice choice on parts.
You should match the body color when you paint all your armor. I think it'll add an extra touch.
When you installed the rock sliders and they pulled your fender out, do you think it was from the extra width the frame strengtheners added? Maybe add a 1/4" plate between the slider side and the fender, so it will push your fender back where it is suppose to go?
Keep up the good work!

I'm for sure doing the body color when it comes that time, that's why I've held out. This guy's build thread made me certain of that before I ever started working on my Jeep:

No it wasn't that because the sliders don't actually mount to the unibody. They mount to the brackets, which are mounted to the unibody and the pinch seam. So when you mount the slider itself, there is a gap between the bottom of the sliders and bracket. You have jack it up to mount it to the bracket, and when you do that it rolled it out. Because the slider already sticks out outside of the body because of the thickness, it's not quite as noticeable. All in all it's still a great product, it just seems like a slight adjustment in the angle during fabrication could fix it. It's also worth noting that I haven't seen anyone else with this problem (I haven't tried to look either) so there is the chance that I have done something wrong. But I watched the videos, followed the instructions and was even more careful when I did the second side. But I still got the same results.

I looked through his thread as well. The body color bumpers look so good. It just so happens mine is black, so I guess I got off easy.
Weird that it pulled out the fender like that. Did you contact JCR about it?
They fouled up some angles on Jeepology's rear bumper. I think he ended up sending it back for another one.

I didn't contact them, I honestly don't feel like dealing with the hassle so I'll just have to get over it.
I just pulled the trigger on a CavFab Alpha Steering System, which has the HD crossover steering AND the over the axle track bar system so I can go "over the knuckle." We've got another wheeling trip planned for mid March, so I'm hoping to at least have that finished by then.
Also looking pretty hard at the DirtBound Offroad - Steel Fender Armor & Flares w/Tail Light Guard Full Set to replace the Bushwacker flat flares and add some additional protection. Has anyone had any experience with these?
