As I type this my son is putting a turbo on his 1957 FC 4cly. I'll get some pics before it explodes.

Design phase, going to be a little tight. Going to make e new manifold and piping out of stainless.

i've used older jag slider carbs for stuff like this. but i have drafted thru the carb rather than blowing thru it.

it mite live for a bit depending on his skills and ability to tune the engine to use the added hard ware :)

I have done both the draft and blow through, You will have way more tunability with draft. Blow through is easier though. Also what was the reason for placing the turbo at that spot on the manifold? with that kind of space to work with I would have done a rear mount, but thats me. Also is that a CT26 turbo? I am all for forced induction I just hope he has done lots and lots of research! tell him to look up a thing called Megasquirt, It will allow him to change to TBI and allow for tuning way beyond what he has now. If your son already knows all this than sorry and just ignore, but thought it would help. Just remember air/fuel ratio is key!

Turbo is out of a Mazda, Like I said still in the planning stage and scrounging for parts. He's got lots of friends with big power drag cars and such so he can always find parts. His skills are incredible and his sgrounging ability is only second to his father (modesty is not one of my strong suits). He got the FC and lots of spare parts for nothing.
