I figured since I wanted to do this build that my little 140 Lincoln was not going to cut it. Ordered a Miller 215

3/4 ton Disk brakes going front and rear.

Going to run High steer arms with knuckle tie in. 7/8 heims for the steering.

14b progress.

Dirty AF even after a power washing.

Way too much time with a wire wheel

Ready for the truss and paint.

More parts came.

14b truss, D60 35 spline outers, complete rebuild parts from ECGS.

I want to TRY and keep the Jeep as reliable as possible. Every seal, bearing and piece of hardware will be replaced on the axles.

ECGS 35 spline drive flanges, 35 spline outers, brass KP bushings, new u joints, ARP high steer studs. complete rebuild kit.

The Miller is so much nicer than my **** Lincoln welder.

Truss and pinion guard on the 14b

More parts came. Dana 60 truss

Artec stuff seems super nice. Fit is spot on.

Time to clean before welding on the truss.

Heat and a 5 ft cheater bar did nothing! snapped my 1/2" blue point :/
[url=https://flic.kr/p/Xu1uSx]

A little trimming on the casting for the driver LCA to fit.

Fitment check. Stitched up the inside and then went to town nice and slow.
Total welding took 2 days. Welding to the pumpkin was slow going as I don't have a torch. I bought a burns O matic and would heat up a section to 450 degrees and then weld a 4" strip. Took forever but Turned out okay.

Turned out pretty decent. No cracking on the cast section and most importantly the axle is still straight!

Got the old KPs out with heat, a pipe wrench and a huge cheater bar. What a pain.

New lower bearing races and dust caps. A ground down axle nut socket worked perfect to press the new races into the inner C.

I used the TMR customs kit to plate the knuckles. It was actually pretty easy to form the pieces to the knuckles once I got the hang of it. I used my bench vise, two crescent wrenchs and a pieces of 1"x3"x3' scrap I had laying around.

It felt wrong stripping freshly painted knuckles back down to the metal.

Ended up beveling the front pieces after I tacked them in this pic for better penetration.

BBQ knuckles. Mmmmmm. 400 degrees and then burned them in!

Burned them both in and then back on the grill. I let them cool for about 6 hours slowly lowering the temp of the grill.

Wire wheeled them and flap disked the tops and the faces of the knuckles.

Added the front gussets.

Studs installed and painted.

High steer arms. Im either going to tie these into the knuckles with some 1/4" plate or sell them and run an Artec style high steer arms with tie in.

4 link kit all welded up. Was A LOT of welding! I added weld washer to the kit for added beef. 3/4 bolts and 1.25 heim joints for the uppers and lowers.

I went with rustoleum hammered paint on these. Curious to see if this holds up as well as the POR 15.
