I would like to stay inexpensive but I would by a good kit if it is worth it. I see that on quadratec there are a few kits around 300$ and was thinking about doing one of them but would also like to try over the knuckle.

Hey,
Great build you have going on here. I especially like the interior... I have an XJ of the same year that I just bought. The interior is crap. Was the carpet in your XJ in good condition when you purchased it? Or did you manage to clean it/replace it? If so, do you have any tips on it? Mine was owned by a mechanic so the floors are covered in oil stains...

Progress on the roof rack. Painted it again and put the wind deflector on.
Also been looking at the steering upgrades and considering the serious off-road under the knuckle due to ease of install instead of modify parts to put on over the knuckle, Then another alignment. But now waiting on driveshaft from Adams driveshaft and should be set to go back on the road.

Just ordered the jcroffroad over the knuckle steering and sway bar mounts. After a few days of looking around at kits it was between them and the iron rock offroad kit but after reading more about them it seems the heim joints are not as good on the road as tie rod ends. And doing the mods does not seem to challenging.
The new driveshaft fits good and drives well except the steering not be all there.
Wind deflector on and jack mounted with some bolts. Nice to have it drivable again.
After steering is done I am going to get some lights. I am looking at the delta Upgrade headlights and some of the quadratec branded offroad lights. Was thinking there 7inch hid lights for the front bumper.

A little change in the plan I went ahead and ordered the rear tire carrier from smittybilt due to wanting a hitch. Also our truck had a blow out on a tire so it got 4 new tires, so I keep one of the old tires which is a 275 70 17 (a little bigger than a 32) and I am going to put a junkyard wheel on it and have a full size spare. So I guess lights will have to wait.

Today I installed the rear bumper and it went well and I came with rear quarter panel gaurd I didn't expect.
I need to get a new spare due to the the rim that I got not going to work due to backspacing. Also my jeep is stuck in 4wd after i pulled the transfer case out the redo due to having a leak.
