Long story short the Colorado threw a rod and don't have time or money to swap the motor out so I give youuuuu my 89 Cherokee!

For the most part bone stock, it's got a 4.5 inch left and front sway bar.
Sitting on stock jeep 16s.
Interior is freaking mint with the exception of a few small electrical problems(rear door lock switch, low speed a/c inop, outside it's virtually rust free and no damage, motor is very sound with the exception of a valve tap which will be my first step in the process. I can't wait to get on with the build and getting a 2014 Sierra in August and a house so I'll have more time and space to work on it. Thanks for the read and I'll keep posting on my new jeep adventures. Just got it and I'm already addicted to it:)

That's what I meant lol, and thanks, I am getting some tires this weekend, was thinking 31s I'm definitely not getting into adjusting gears and all that so that's why I'm going a tad smaller, and I have a list of crap I want to do but it'll be a slow start, do to moving and getting the Sierra. So for now just small things like re painting it white, tires, and what ever I can do for under $100 really. But for the long run I can't wait to have a little trail tank, especially since it'll just be an extra vehicle that I won't use on a regular basis.

That's how mine began and is turning out to be very capable. Looking forward to seeing the 31s on it.

I'll definitely keep y'all posted if luck is on my side Saturday will be the day, quick question, could I go 32 or 33 and still not worry about adjusting anything, or should I just go with 31s to be safe?

4.5"s of lift is plenty for 33s. But it also depends on how far back your front axle is with the short arms, you might rub on the back of the flares on turns. 33x10.50s won't rub near as much as 33x12.50s though. I'm at 4"s trimmed with 33x10.50s and could fit 35s if I wanted. Check out my build on my '88, it could help you out.

Went out into the trails by the construction site was pretty fun, got chased off by a cop and forced to take the hard way out and like 6/7 trails were loops or dead ends, got stuck in a hole on my left tire going up a small mound with some roots, kept bottoming out and rocking back, had to throw it and 4L and floor it, scraped my frame and smacked the hell out of my rear end, which I need to lock I guess. Question can I lock it in 4x4 only or what? Buy a new one? I'm new to 4x4

Did some riding today in two spots, one was a trail with a big hill and some mud and the other was a sand pit with some trails. Wound up going down a very tight trail that was a dead end and as I stopped and tried to reverse, I buried my back left tire about a foot deep in soft sand, I finally got unstuck with some sticks and made a 7 point turn to get out.

Two questions.
Someone explain to me how lockers work and how easy are they to put in?
When in reverse on sand my wheel will stop and something in the driveline or diff slips it revs up and makes a grinding noise, but the wheel doesn't spin, it's happened a few times, not sure if it's because of 4x4 or not

I installed my rear Aussie locker in my 29 spline 8.25 in about 2 hours from tires coming off to back on. It behaves amazingly on the roads and even better off. It makes a clicking sound as you turn but barely noticeable with the windows up and almost silent with the radio on. I love it. If you're not looking to go any bigger than you are than I see no issues with locking your D35 with the 32s. I swapped my d35 because it was cheap and I knew I was going to at least 33s and maybe 35s with the intentions of locking it.

Did you drop the transfer case when you lifted your Jeep? The grinding sounds could be the linkage popping the transfer case out of gear. But i'm not sure.

Nope just lifted it put spacers on and dropped it. I think it only does it in sand

Sounds like transfer case is not fully engaged and the shift linkage needs adjustment. Sand requires high torque, gear engagement needs to be 100%.
Here is a video to familiarize you with the where and what, and directions from the FSM.
SHIFT LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT
(1) Shift transfer case into 4L position. (make sure your shifter is fully in the 4L position)
(2) Raise vehicle. (not necessary if you can fit underneath)
(3) Loosen lock bolt on adjusting trunnion (Fig.
87).
(4) Be sure linkage rod slides freely in trunnion.
Clean rod and apply spray lube if necessary.
(5) Verify that transfer case range lever is fully
engaged in 4L position. (you can do this under the vehicle at the transfer case)
(6) Tighten adjusting trunnion lock bolt.
(7) Lower vehicle
