Ok, It is with heavy heart that this update comes. I have decided to scrap this project and start over. I was standing back looking at it one day a month ago and realized that it had not gone in the direction I had hoped for. So I decided to sleep on it for awhile and then like lightning bolt I found what I was looking for. A friend has a 93 YJ for sale real cheap and If we can get some horse trading done my plan is to move a lot of the parts from this to that. My first choice was a YJ and just could not find one when I got the XJ. So now if things fall into place I will be able to have the Jeep I wanted. Thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement. And keep your eyes out for updates on the new and improved Sooner YJ. J

Well I have some updates for yall. I never did get the yj. After looking at it closer it was to far gone to mess with. So I thought for awhile I was going to part out the XJ but just keptit as is instead. So, now I think it's time to get back to work on it. I cleaned out the garage and made room. The SoonerXJ is now in the home shop and I am ready to get started back up. First things first, I'm going to lower the body down closer to the frame then get busy on the cage. Oh and I have decided to 4 link the rear. I went today out to pick up the radiator and some cut off wheels. Look for updates now and then.

man you had it on the right track in terms of a cherokee build but what ever works for matters like what you had. on the YJ are you still going to run leafs, boggers and a 350?
