Default 96 XJ weekender

I purchased a 96 XJ almost a year ago. Has a skyjacker 3" lift with 31x16 on it. I beat it up last desert season to see what it can handle and everything went good. I will be upgrading the suspension to a 4.5" with 33x12.50x15 on it. I have tuned the engine, added KN cool air intake, new 2 chamber flow master exhaust, I tossed in a CB and speaker to yell at people on the trails.I plan on building a roof rack and light bar mount for my 50" LED bar and two 4x4 LED spots for the rear. I have been looking at bumpers and fender flares and havent decided which way to go. I have a wench in the garage and on the fence if I want to have it mounted or not. I should be installing the new lift within the next few weeks but will post pictures before to show what I started with.
Thanks for looking and check back to see the progress

Default Front is complete

I tossed in a 4.5 lift on the front. I went with RC adjustable track bar, adjustable upper N lower control arms, extended brake lines and sway bar qick disco. I also changed out all tie rod ends and tie rod (OEM). will upgrade if I feel the need. I added rubicon xprs 4.5 springs, and RC 2.0 shocks and steering stabilizer. Shocks suck after a week of ripping around. I ended up adding slotted brake rotors and had to replace both calipers. A month later before I do the rear I went ahead and installed a SYE from advanced adaptors and a rear drive shaft from RC. I changed out the gears and chain from TC since I was in there already.
Rear brake lines 1" shackles and shocks then the rear is done(still has 3" leaf pack from previous lift). I have chosen to go with 32x11.50x15 and 15x8 for my shoes. I have tried to upload pics but had trouble I will try again after this week is done and new shoes are on. Stay tuned.........

Been upgrading the rig and busy at work for the past four months and havent been able to make this desert season YET! Mostly where we would go is ocotillo and play in the washes or creeks. I live in Clairemont, San Diego, Ca, anyone out there have any ideas on some other places to hit up that are within 100 miles??

Looking good. First I thought that was exhaust coming out of the front fender but realized its your magnet tray. You could always come to Tucson az. Like 500 miles from you. I know lots of badass spots here to wheel

Was planning an AZ trip this year will keep it in mind. Question for you, I put 2.0N RC shocks on the front and have heard mixed things about bilstien 5100 whats on there now sucks bad and its stiff as hell. Im looking for a softer shock any suggestions??

Bilsteins are awesome. I'm running blown pro comp explorers and didn't care for them too much before they were blown. I also ran some Rc 2.0s on my old xj and loved them. If you're looking for a softer ride, a Cherokee is the wrong vehicle to drive. Also, if you lower your psi in your tires a few, that'll give you a bit of a softer ride. If I run 30psi, it rides pretty good. I aired up to 35 and I feel every bump

Wasnt to hard watched a few videos and I didnt drop the whole tc just removed the cover, assmebled the sye and installed maybe about 3 hours of time. I ordered my drive shaft from RC and came in three days and a decent price. After installing both you can tell the torque and ride difference
