Default "Ron" Burgundy 2000 xj

Hey all, just starting my build thread today since the lift is on the way! Figured I would start out on what I have done so far and update it once the lift is on.

It was a cold rainy day in March when I purchased my 2000 burgundy XJ from a friend. Had 88K on it and nothing major wrong with it. Bone stock except for new exhaust and H4's with blown out leafs and the heater/air only worked on high. Easy fixes.

I hate the bone stock look so I bought some American Racing Outlaw 15" rims and wrapped them in BFG AT's. also bought a set of Yakima racks to throw on top.

did some light wheeling:

started getting tired of only having the heater on super high so went out and replaced the blower resistor.

can you tell which one is the new one??

Tires were rubbing when I had people in the back so I replaced the leafs in the back so I was back at stock riding height, no pics brought it to my mechanic to deal with all the rusted bolts.

Everything was working fine until my stock radio bit the dust. So instead of just replacing it I went all out with new stereo speakers and a subwoofer.

new head unit

I only have a summer job so I didnt do anything major. Now that it has started I plan on building all summer.

Just ordered my RC 3" lift with nitro's today on the phone, great discout BTW.

Plans for the future:

31's once my current tires go bald
New front and rear bumpers
Fog lights (cant decide if I want Detour's A-pillar brackets or not)
Grand Cherokee seat swap
cold air intake
and more once I think of them.

Ill update once the lift is on!

Matt,

I have a 2000 XJ myself and it looks like ours are nearly identical, sans mine being dark blue.

We have the same dashboard layout, and my jeep was having the same problem of the blower only working on 4 of 1-4 settings. I was thinking my switch was faulty, but now im betting its the blower resistor also. would you mind snapping a quick shot of where it installs? In case i cant track it down. how much did the new reistor run you? Thanks in advance.

any updates to your build lately?

Time to update.....

put the lift on at the end of june. went on a very light wheeling trip performed pretty good but my tires were shot.

needed new tires so decided to go with the General Grabber AT2 in 31x10.5x15. look great and perform great in light conditions in mud sand and gravel. havnt done anything crazy yet since it is my DD vehicle and i commute to school.

next thing on will be a bumper and some skid plates.

stay tuned (and classy) for updates
