Oh, and then I'll buy that ragtop off of you.
Did a chop to another years ago, not feeling the need to be honest.

So I'm dumping the knife, it just doesn't cut it.....

Shoot me an email with your screenname eric@liquidironindustries.com

I'm compiling a list and trying to keep everything organized so we maintain some sort of consistency with this.

I had to get the tube rockers started in order to finish the passenger side rear tube flares, they were not looking good to start with.....

Now I know the previous adolescent owner was a mudder, but come on.....our Cherokees have drain holes for rinsing out the rockers......

Finding that much crap in a single rocker was like.........like...........

Yup.......Opened yet another can of worms, more work that I don't have time for as the rust even creeps up the inner rocker.......ugh!

So let the fun continue I guess........Doing pretty much the 2x6" tube replacement in this area, pretty standard stuff now a days so it won't be very well documented in this thread. There are/is a small twist or two I'm going to incorporate though, I'll be sure to keep you up on that. I wasn't counting on so much rust in there, so in the end.........we'll see if I can't take a bad situation and some how make it better!

Not a bunch in the last 24hrs......But, I did contact Rock Krawler this morning about updating my 3 link long arm......spoke with Justin in the tech dept and he say's he has parts on hand (not listed) to upgrade my 3 link, very much looking forward to this!
.
Between jobs today I felt I needed to somehow do something.....so I refinished the rear of my bumper, this bumper is 14 years old, the first 'Slimline' bumper ever built and has been on 3 different XJ's....

Love this stuff, it was first applied to this bumper 12 or so years ago, held up great all these years!

I slammed a tree in reverse 5 nights ago, you'd never know it, but I decided to go back to my old school incandescent lighting over the early LED's I had.....they throw a better light in my opinion.....avoiding trees!

As far as back on the street goes.......my old, torn, ripped away mirrors need to be gone, some metal upgrades are in order as well.......Lucky for me I've had a stash of a couple brand'ie new, OEM mirrors for about 10 years now, I think it's time to apply them!

That'll happen in the next day or so, also need a rear view off my windshield as the original got in my way one day......think I'll look for something funky!

Stay tuned!!!

Wow this build is awesome read from start to finish Also are you using an arc welder or a mig welder? Im looking at buying one at some point and want something fairly cheap, but does a decent job.

Thank you.
Everything is mig welded, arc is some what obsolete any more but can get the job done if it's all you have.
I recently purchased one of these of ebay......
http://www.ebay.com/itm/220V-Mig-Mag-170-AMP-Welder-Flux-Gas-Welding-Machine-/120746857710?pt=BI_Welders&hash=item1c1d12d4ee
I bought it as a back up, secondary welder.....I paid $328.00 'delivered' at the time, this vendor wants $399.00.....I burn .030 wire in it with a 75/25 mix......over all, it's pretty impressive for the money. The wire feeder motor could be better and the trigger is a little weak......but besides that it burns HOT & STEADY. As a secondary welder or for some one who just getting started, it's a winner for short money. Most importantly, it burns very hot unlike name brand welders in the same price range, it would have no problem welding 1/2" plate.

So......Sunday night as I was looking around for something to eat in the house, I couldn't help notice my kid's lunch money on the counter......Hmmm I thought as I counted it, between this and the change I found in the couch........might just be able to get me a Jeep part!!.
.
I quickly grabbed my laptop and headed for the bathroom, after I locked the door & logged on, did a quick search for a 96 Dodge 2500 steering stabilizer, oh mother of pearl......there before my eye's on Summit Racing's website was a proud looking KYB stabilizer for short money......few clicks later and a flush (just in case)......MINE!!

YJ steering linkage requiring 8"+ of travel and a different pin point than XJ linkage requiring a longer stabilizer.
