Just spent about 4 hours reading through this whole thread, AMAZING Detour! Love the designs and the inspiration you throw out to fellow Jeepers.

One question on the cubby design, it didn't look waterproof on the door so how does it drain water if it is welded all around? Are there drain holes that lead under the fender or does it leak into the inside of the XJ? Just curious, love the design, makes me think of a Ram truck with work sides in the bed, great idea!

Keep it up, I am a fan sir!

Dino....the cubby was a work in progress when photographed, and still is in a sense...the whole panel will be welded in, I can't do that until I expand my wheelwells, and I can't do that until I replace my rockers with tubing...........I guess I had better get busy on my rockers!!.......Once complete, I will be adding an inner lip to the cubby and weather strip, I doubt I can make it 100% water tight with the piano hinge so yes, I'll also drill a couple of small drain holes.

Lots to do, lots of things to finish, not a lot of time.....

I just finished reading all 40-something pages. Awesome build man! You have inspired me to go forward with my dual e-brake setup and gave me lots of other ideas. Keep up the good work brother!

I must say as a huge fan of your work I have derived a crap ton of inspiration from your xj. If I could manage to make mine (that recently received it's first aftermarket treatment) half as cool as yours I would be ecstatic. No other build has inspired me any where near as much as yours and I plan to purchase a few things of yours when I get proper funding. I just felt it was time to show my enthusiasm for your work after many many months of hiding in the shadows waiting for any updates on your amazing xj.
