Oh yaaa.......I'm still at it, looked at a right hand drive one 2 weeks ago.....carpet was hanging through the floor.....no thank you.
Just taking a break I guess, the next one might go in a totally different direction.......we'll see, maybe a go fast with Jaguar headlights & a small block.

Your advantage with the Ford block is the dizzy is up front, work backwards on that C4 to see which 4bys used it....compare the stats......you may end up with axles from the same rig if desirable....Not up on the Ford stuff, but if you travel this road.....don't be scared to make changes, but at the same time your fabrication should be thought out and well done for longevity.
I refabricated my center console 3 times adapting to different things....

It'll be a few years of planning and gathering parts for sure. If nothing else I can throw in my bone stock injected 302 first to see where all my weak links are...lol I'm a die hard Ford guy, with a soft spot for XJ's. I've wanted one for about 10 years now, and finally pulled the trigger.

I just spent the last 4 hours of 2015 and first 2 hours of 2016 to find out that you ended up selling the rolling felony!
But I can't complain about the time spent reading because you gave me some ideas for my own jeep. I'm planning on buying the Backbone bumper system and building off of it to make a sweet bumper.
But like most jeep owners I am flat broke right now but un-naturally have a TON of time on my hand to work on mine. I need to start work again soon since I lost my job exactly 42 days ago.
On another note........ You hiring Detour?

That was 1/2 the idea behind the 'Felony build, explore ideas......See what works, what doesn't work, try this.....do that.....oh crap, that didn't work, repeat.....I think we owned something like 15 XJ's over the last 19-20 years, the 'Felony I had the longest.....the possibilities are endless. Spoke with a new customer yesterday who put a Mercedes's diesel in his, nice build, lots of work.........I'll be building another as previously stated when the right one comes my way, most are rust out this way and I can wait.
As I may have previously stated, the next Felony will be a street version I think, really, really want to implant Jaguar headlights, slide some fat Mickey's under the rear, tubbed, very simple cage, 2wd with a small block hanging out of the hood, prefer black.....Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, good to read you got some idea's, save up and do it right, most of all.......Dare to be Different!

Can't believe I spent days and days reading that only to find you sell out at the end!!
....so betrayed. Oh well. I once sold a '52 Wayfarer true coupe. We all make mistakes.
Awesome thread, though. Very entertaining. Not sure how it was started in 2011 and saw your child be born and also grow to 6 years of age (in 2014), but I won't get caught up in minute details.
Will have to save up and buy some gear off your site. Just got a 2000 XJ (first one), someone has lifted it and done some other things (like remove both sway bars). Too bad that company doesn't sell the front one anymore (they still have the rear one listed on their site... or "a" rear one for the XJ).
