I'm happy to see some jeeps get a second life even if it's at the expense of another. Love the red dip too.

So the white jeep needed a muffler. I've got pre and post sound clips I'll upload later.

El Cheapo from local auto store or did you go with something else on that muffler? Did you cut that old one open or was it like that? I need a new one too just not sure which one I will go with. I think I need entire pipe and muffler though. Mine is rusty but for now functional.

It's a Walker Quiet Flow. Like $70 on Amazon. I wanted something quiet so I can beat on it a little more before pulling it all apart. I'm going to add a little turn down out of the muffler but don't plan to run a full pipe out the back.

I peeled it open but it was split like that. It was so loud, like there was no muffler.

Drove to Stuart this past weekend, had trans issues. I noticed a lot of smoke when slowing down, stopped and I had a big leak from what seemed between the engine and trans (was leaking on to the exhaust). I was cruising at maybe 75mph for a while, I think I overheated the trans.

When I put a new radiator in maybe 2 years ago I never hooked up the trans cooler because the lines were leaking at the hard to soft connection. I just looped them together and always planned to add a cooler. Never had issues before.

The fluid has stopped leaking and the level actually looks OK. It's burnt so I'm going to drain and fill and I bought a universal cooler to install.

Putting the story out there in case there's something I'm missing (I think it just overheated). It seems to be driving and shifting ok.

I did get a trans cooler in and have done a drain/fill twice now.

I need some diagnostic help. My AC cuts in and out and will cut out for long periods. It is charged. I need to know what things I can check, relay, sensors, etc. Trying to get an idea of where to start

My CEL is burned out (I guess) so I randomly check for codes. I got the P1491 for fan relay and replaced that. It seems to have fixed the AC issue.

Mine used to have that same issue! Slowing down from a cruise, and poof, smoke screen! I havent had the issue since i installed my trans cooler though. That was a couple years ago.

Some more progress. Hopefully I can keep a consistent pace and keep updating.

Got some more done last week. Didn't touch it over the weekend. This is going pretty easy since just cutting everything out. Nothing major really stuck so far.

Bunch of crap out. Only hang up is the screws that hold all the transfer case brackets to the tunnel. I think they're just spinning. I'll just need a extra hand. But I think I'm really close to being able to pull the drivetrain out.
