Hey if you haven't ordered your motor mounts yet, take a look at Ironmans. Cost me around 100 bucks and the design in much better than BD's. Bd's has great service and nothing bad to say about them, other than Ironman has the better design. I ran the MOORE mounts which is basically the same as the BD mounts and my Ironmans are much thicker & look alot stronger.
1/4" thick..man those suckers are heavy.

Will definitely look into those. At the moment, several people are telling me not to replace the motor mounts b/c the transmission mount is shot.

The replacement one is on its way from Rock Auto and should be here tomorrow. We'll see if that pushes the motor back into the correct alignment.

What an awesome build. I read the whole thing and when I came across your little problem with the Rusty's tie rod ends. I have the exact same steering set up on mine. I had mine in the garage for about 2 weeks and when I reopened the box to start the install, I noticed the exact same thing...Rust. I never thought of contacting Rusty's about it since it was going on the Trail ZJ but it did bother me. I decided to ditch Rusty's products all together since it took them 7 months to get me hoodie and I didnt even get the one I ordered. Iron Rock Offroad and Rough Country are the 2 companies I use now for all 3 of my Jeeps.

I hate crap like that hoodie issue. I'm still waiting for a decal myself from someone else that I paid for in October. His printer broke, and I know that's not his fault - just hate waiting.

I wouldn't avoid using Rusty's again in the future, it just pissed me off that they do assume the end user knows a hell of a lot more than I know. I have to wait for warmer weather to pull the ends, clean them, paint them, and remount them.

So far, their stuff has been working well though.

Default Motor Mount Installation

When it comes time to install the motor mounts, be sure to give us a call. We have some shortcuts -- specifics depend on what other symptoms you see, but we'll go over all that -- to help get that driveline back into it's proper place without busting your knuckles. Make sure you get a good transmission mount (we don't make any) and inspect the cross member and engine bracket bolts carefully.

Looking at replacement mounts from brown dog:
http://browndogindustries.com/cherok...-2000-40l.aspx

And need a new transmission mount, probably from Rock Auto.

The fan blades chewed through the AC line, so no AC, no Defroster either.
Picked up a replacement AC line from Jeep but can't install it yet until I get the engine sitting correctly.

I've had this for a while and thought I would post it up so you can see what information you can get from Chrysler about your Jeep via this link:

http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universa...ull&category=U

I got that link courtesy of Midsouth Jeeps forum site. The FAQ there has a lot of useful info.

Here is what Chrysler sent back to me:

Had leather and vinyl seats in the past. I hear what you're saying.

Looking for suggestions for a radio to replace the OEM one in the XJ.

I'd like to find one that can play mp3's stored on a jump drive and get rid of the whole "use your ipod" thing. Not looking for high dollar "I need to impress people" stuff - just a decent one with a name I recognize. This might be part of Christmas for me

Suggestions?

Nice and cheap. Sony also has another nice one for about $133 from Best Buy and its display lights up green.

This is the headunit I have and I've had it for 6 months:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158GT55...FFBrand%7cSony

I dont have one complaint about it at all, It plays music off my jump drive for my 6 hour trip back home and even has a lighter color green for night driving that is almost identical to the green lights that came stock with the Cherokee. I reccomend crutchfield every day of the week over any other stereo outfitter around. They have great products and are great people to work with.

Thanks for the suggestions! Those are nice.

Meanwhile, I got a 5' black skip shooter tunable CB antenna, HD bumper stud mount, and 21' of coax. I hate the idea of drilling that Logan's bumper!
